Good Food, Strong Communities

The service is in absolute alignment with the Sustainable Future Festival, as ReNewy Living encourages everyone to reduce their consumption, reuse as much as possible, care for nature and be more mindful of how we can work together as a community.

Green Cleaning

Returning for our third year, we'll run two activations. The first turns bottle top lids into pens, showing people what happens to an item their kerbside bin won't take and proving that "hard to recycle" doesn't mean "worthless". The second is beeswax wrap making, giving attendees a reusable alternative to cling film that they've made themselves and are far more likely to actually use.

Both tie directly into BRAD, the Banish Recycling and Diversion Program, one of Australia's largest hard-to-recycle collection programs. In 2024 BRAD diverted over one million pieces of plastic waste from landfill. The festival is a chance to bring that program to people who've never heard of it, and to answer the question we hear most often: I want to do better, but where do I start?

Girri Girra Aboriginal Experiences brings a living, First Nations perspective to sustainability — one grounded in thousands of years of caring for Country. As a 100% Aboriginal-owned business led by Tim Selwyn, Girri Girra offers on country experiences, sharing ancient wisdoms about traditional land management practices such as fire stick farming, bush food and medicine, and the deep spiritual connection between people and place that underpins genuine environmental stewardship. By sharing this knowledge, Girri Girra doesn't just talk about sustainability — it offers tools and gives opportunity to all people to learn from the oldest continuous sustainable culture on earth.

Eat Like an Eco-Warrior

Anna’s work is centred around practical sustainability, helping people turn everyday household waste into valuable resources while building healthier soil, growing more food and reducing waste.

Composting and worm farming are simple examples of the circular economy in action: food scraps and organic waste can be diverted from landfill and transformed into nutrient-rich compost and worm castings that go back into the garden.

Through Compost & Thrive and her hands-on demonstrations, Anna shows that sustainable living doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Small changes at home can reduce waste, improve soil health, support productive gardens and build greater resilience.

Her book, Homegrown Healthy Living, and worm-farming products give people practical resources they can take home and continue using long after the festival.
