Anna Axisa

Home Grown Health Australia

Anna’s work is centred around practical sustainability, helping people turn everyday household waste into valuable resources while building healthier soil, growing more food and reducing waste.

Composting and worm farming are simple examples of the circular economy in action: food scraps and organic waste can be diverted from landfill and transformed into nutrient-rich compost and worm castings that go back into the garden.

Through Compost & Thrive and her hands-on demonstrations, Anna shows that sustainable living doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Small changes at home can reduce waste, improve soil health, support productive gardens and build greater resilience.

Her book, Homegrown Healthy Living, and worm-farming products give people practical resources they can take home and continue using long after the festival.

Anna Axisa is the author of Homegrown Healthy Living, a practical Australian guide to creating a more sustainable, self-sufficient and connected way of life.

Living on a rural property on the Mid North Coast with her family, Anna has spent years learning, experimenting and sharing simple ways to grow food, improve soil, reduce waste and make the most of what we have.

Through her workshops, talks and demonstrations, Anna makes sustainable living feel achievable rather than overwhelming. Her approach is practical, hands-on and grounded in real life, from composting and worm farming to growing, preserving and fermentation.
