Homegrown Health
#homegrownhealthyliving
I'm Anna Axisa – Homesteader, Author & Sustainable Living Educator.

I've spent over a decade living off grid with my family on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Together, we’ve built a thriving sustainable lifestyle, focusing on growing food, raising animals, creating renewable energy systems, and closing the loop with composting and worm farming.

My book, Homegrown Healthy Living, shares our journey and offers practical skills, recipes, and inspiration for anyone wanting to live more sustainably. Through workshops, speaking engagements, and hands-on demonstrations, I empower people to take simple steps toward a healthier, more resilient life. I bring warmth, humour, and down-to-earth expertise that inspires audiences to begin their own sustainable journey.
What are you offering at the festival?
A wild fermentation demonstration.
I'm going to show you just how quick and easy fermentation can be. With a fun, practical demo, I'll reveal how sauerkraut supports gut health, reduces waste, and adds flavour to everyday meals. You'll walk away inspired to bring this simple, sustainable tradition into your own kitchen.

Visit me at my stall and purchase a copy of my book Homegrown Healthy Living.
What payment form do you accept?
Both cash and eftpos.
How do you align with the festival goals?
My presentation aligns strongly with the festival’s sustainability goals by showing people how to make sauerkraut at home. This is a simple, low-cost way to preserve food, reduce waste, and support gut health. Fermentation is an age-old practice that requires no electricity, packaging, or chemicals, making it an accessible step toward more resilient households.
At my stall, I’ll also be sharing my book Homegrown Healthy Living, which documents over a decade of off-grid life on our family’s homestead. It offers practical skills and inspiration for growing food, composting, worm farming, and reducing reliance on outside systems. Both the workshop and the book empower attendees to take achievable, everyday actions that build self-sufficiency and contribute to a more sustainable future.
