Compost Revolution
Compost your food scraps and help your garden grow!
The Compost Revolution helps Australians build greener, healthier, more resilient communities by turning food scraps into nutrient-rich soil. Around half of what households throw away is compostable, and home composting cuts landfill waste while reducing harmful greenhouse gases.
Partnering with 35+ councils nationwide, The Compost Revolution is an award-winning platform that educates and equips households to recover food waste. Through fun online tutorials and an easy ordering system, residents can learn composting skills and have gear delivered to their door.
Celebrating 13 years of impact, over 98,000 households have joined, diverting 56,000+ tonnes of waste and preventing 90,000+ tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions. Visit our stall to meet founder David Gravina, join a mini workshop (see program) or get advice on composting.

How do you align with the festival goals?
The Compost Revolution directly supports the sustainability goals of the Sustainable Futures Festival by helping Central Coast residents reduce waste, cut emissions, and live more sustainably at home. Around half of household waste is compostable, and our program empowers residents to recycle it into nutrient-rich soil instead of sending it to landfill. This reduces methane emissions, improves soil health, and supports local food growing — all key to a circular, low-waste future.
Working in partnership with 35 councils, Stocklands, Ambulance Victoria and more, The Compost Revolution provides fun online learning and discounted composting gear delivered to residents’ doors. Together, we make sustainable living simple, practical, and rewarding — one household, one compost bin, and one community at a time.
